Jokes aside, thank you for all the prep work last week. The classrooms all look inviting. I trust we are all well prepared to welcome our community back into Hillside. Have a wonderful week connecting with the children and new families. 


A side note, you are all admin superstars! 🤩 We've all completed the Gateway declarations within the first week :) Just a few reminders below:


Drop-off / Pick-up Protocols

Arrival:

K2s will access walkers/ bus entrances as usual.

New K1 families will be greeted in the foyer by class teams.


Dismissal:

K2 walkers will use the "walkers stairs" for pick-up. 


K1s

Monday & Tuesday - All parents will be with the kids and stay together until home time.

Wednesday & Thursday - Some parents might be waiting downstairs, admin will send parents up at 10:40pm/ 2:55pm.

Friday - All parents will wait downstairs. The teachers will bring the children down class by class.

We will prepare waiting/seating areas for the parents as we anticipate it might be crowded in the foyer.

We will set up a coffee station in the resource room. If the weather is nice, we will also set up the playground (grass area). 


K1 EAs, please help K2 bus lines - Call out for veteran K1 EAs to support our 3 new K2 EAs during bus time.


Meeting Dates

A warm reminder of our meeting days, following on from our schedule last year, we usually will meet on:

  • Tuesdays - whole staff meetings
  • Wednesdays - open play meetings every other week
  • Thursdays - EA PD but not set weekly
  • Teams decide on a mutual time for your weekly class time meetings

Google Calendar

A warm reminder to refer to our Staff Google Calendar (always attached at the end of comms) for any upcoming events, visitors, or important dates. We will do our best to keep the calendar up-to-date so everyone is informed and prepared. Sometimes visitors are here for a meeting but might request a quick tour on the day. If we know they will spend time on the floor in advance, we will give people the heads up. For any last-minute changes, we will use the WhatsApp broadcast to update everyone on that day.


ESF News 

ESF Sports and Language has undergone a major rebrand and is looking better than ever. They will now be known as ESF Explore - a name that not only trips easily off the tongue but also encapsulates the depth and breadth of our offering, which, as you know, includes fantastic afterschool programmes and summer camps for children of all ages. I know the great efforts that went into creating this new and unique brand identity, so congratulations to the team on this impressive piece of work.
