Planning for Diversity in Today's Classrooms (aka the engaging PD with Dr Shelley Moore!)

Thank you for participation on our professional training day with Dr Shelley Moore. We hope you found the training informative and valuable in enhancing your professional skills in planning for inclusion and diversity in your classrooms - "We need wasabi in our lives!"

We kindly request that you take a moment to complete the evaluation form. Your feedback is crucial in shaping CPD opportunities and ensuring that we continue to bring amazing speakers like Dr Shelley Moore to our events. The evaluation form can be accessed here.

To further support your learning, Dr Shelley Moore has provided a comprehensive set of resources. You should have received an email on Thursday 11 April, containing a link to access all the materials.

To ensure easy accessibility, we have saved all the resources in our Google Drive. Please find the complete collection of materials here [Hillside Google Drive>Learning Diversity>Shelley Moore resources>2024].

These resources are meant to serve as a reference and a reminder of the key concepts covered during the training. Feel free to explore them at your own convenience and share them with colleagues who may have not attend the session.

Photo rerun - Tuesday, 23 April

Please note that Peter, the photographer, will be returning to capture individual photos of all the children who were absent during the initial photography session. We appreciate your flexibility and understanding in letting them step away for a quick photo :) Please find the list of children who missed their individual photos here

Sending Unwell Children Home

If you are sending unwell children home, please provide the admin team with some basic info (e.g. what was their temperature or vomited how many times) so the admin can pass the info on to the carer who comes, who might not be the parent you've spoken with over the phone.

Staff are advised to contact parents if the children have these symptoms:

  • A fever
  • 2+ URTI symptoms (cough & snotty nose)
  • Green/ yellow snot (Not a runny nose due to allergies)
  • Diarrhoea (with abdominal pain and loose stool)
  • Vomiting (Not from motion sickness - i.e. just arrived from the bus)

  • Signs of severe illness include irritability, crying more than usual, difficulty breathing, or a quickly spreading rash.

These are just a few common symptoms. If unsure, please check with SLT before calling parents.

For emergencies, please don't hesitate to interrupt SLT in meetings or play visits or seek assistance from Nurse Lauren.

Upcoming Dates

Please check our internal calendar below, as we might forget to remind everyone of odd dates. We will continue to add events to the calendar as soon as it's confirmed. Here's the full 2023/24 Calendar
