  • 8:30-9:20 Meet with teacher reps
  • 9:30-10:20 Meet with EA reps
  • 10:30 Time with children
Who?
  • Mark Blackshaw (ESF Director of Education) and Chloe Pollack (ESF Head of Education - Curriculum and Learning) will facilitate the meeting.
  • Teacher reps: Frankie, Jen, Juliet, Robyn, Brenda
  • EA reps: Hollie, Marie, Penney, Valentine, Yvonne
What do you need to do to prepare?
If you have time and would like to think about some questions in advance, you can consider some of the following that are likely to be discussed:
  • What do you see as the main challenges and opportunities for education moving forward (global and local)?
  • Ideally, how would students be learning differently by 2030?
  • Ideally, what would the work of a teacher/support staff look like in 2030?
  • As a Foundation, what would you like us to consider to StopStart and Keep doing?
  • What are the most significant barriers to you being the best version of yourself at work/school?

Early Years Connect - May Issue
This month, we explore:
  • Reframing time as rhythms
  • Education myths busted! For example, doodling improves focus…not 🤔
  • New IG find- Music with Shannon
  • Tons of resources to support children and adults with distress tolerance
Check out the May issue here.

Start of Year/ Calendar
As the HK government has gazetted the public holidays for 2025, please find attached the final 2024/25 school calendar (LINK). Staff start back on Monday, 12 August.
Please note that there will be a separate orientation schedule for K1s and K2s for the first weeks of term. Drafts attached below.

PRD
You would have seen the HR newsletter on EoY PRDs. With PTCs coming up soon, let's schedule the PRD check-ins for mid-June before the summer. More details will follow.

PTCs (week 8 and 9)
We have booked Ethan & Jessica to cover for PTC days. Teachers, please inform CJ of your preference to Zoom from home or school, as they can assist with parent phone calls/ issues on the day. Due to space limitations, we will utilise the library and resources room for Zoom spaces. Therapy will be relocated outside the resource room for these two weeks, and we would really appreciate it if library book exchanges could be accommodated in your classrooms. We will provide extra laptops for book borrowing upstairs.

The Paris Olympics are almost upon us. Every four years, athletes from every country, from all walks of life and of all faiths and none come together to celebrate the remarkable nature of humanity. This year, our ESF art exhibition is all about humans and their extraordinary power to achieve. Every single day, people in our schools, in our homes and in our communities are doing remarkable things and this is what we seek to celebrate in this show.

Many of our children across K1 & K2 have actively participated in creating art pieces for the exhibition that will be displayed at City Hall, please feel free to visit to support. Thanks to all our teachers for their help, and special thanks to Dawn and Ammie for coordinating!
