Good morning, team! Thank you for all the prep work last week. The classrooms all look very welcoming as I walked around Friday afternoon. Have a wonderful week connecting with the children and new families. 


For this Week

Monday - All K2s back, K1 staggered start

Tuesday - Whole staff lunch meeting: Safeguarding & RecordMy (Bring your devices to log in to RecordMy)


Drop-off / Pick-up Protocols

Arrival:

K2s will access walkers/ bus entrances as usual.

New K1 families will be greeted in the foyer by class teams.


Dismissal:

K2 walkers will use the walkers stairs as usual.


K1s

Monday/ Tuesday - Parents leave with the children via walker stairs and lift

Wednesday/ Thursday/ Friday - Gradual dismissal starting at 10:35/ 2:50

Frog > Panda > Monkey >Dolphin

We will prepare waiting/seating areas in the library and resource room for the parents to wait for dismissal.


Leave Policy Updates

As mentioned earlier, here are the key points from the recent Leave Policy Update.


Carers Leave

  • Up to 5 days off to take care of an immediate family member.
  • Within Hong Kong.
  • Supporting documents, e.g. sick note of a family member, are required.


Maternity Leave

  • Unpaid leave after her maternity leave for more than 4 weeks, she can only return to work at the start of a new term break.
  • During the unpaid leave period, all term breaks are unpaid except the last one before she resumes work.
  • Extended unpaid leave after maternity leave totalling one calendar year or more (both paid maternity and unpaid) will be treated as sabbatical leave from the start of the paid leave, suspending all benefits.


Parent leave (formerly Paternity leave) 

  • Up to take 5 days (doesn't need to be continuously but within one calendar year).
  • If both parents are ESF staff, only one can apply as the other one should apply for maternity/ adoption/surrogacy.


Surrogacy Leave 

  • Will mirror Maternity Leave
  • 14 weeks
