Morning everyone, last week of October 🎃👻
For this Week
K2 PTC week - thank you again for your flexibility and accommodation with the PTC schedule.

Tuesday: Audrey & Laura at ESFC for ICMEC, CPO training; EA PD at 12:10pm Tiger Classroom

K2 PTCs
Since we have space limitations, we've decided to utilise the library and resources room for Zoom spaces and EP assessments. Therapy will be relocated to outside the resource room for these two weeks, and we would really appreciate it if library book exchanges could be accommodated in your classrooms.
Jasmine and Vicky can assist with parent phone calls/ issues on the day.

EA Term 1 PRD Check-ins (Next Week)
Laura and Brenda will be meeting EAs in the next couple of weeks. Please check your time slot here, we will meet in the vault and a floater will come to your class to cover you. In advance, please think about the following reflection questions:
- What excites you about the year ahead, and how are you feeling about it so far? How is your overall well-being, and what changes do you believe would be transformational for your well-being in the coming year?
- What are your professional development goals for the upcoming academic year, and what support do you feel you would need to achieve them?
- What aspects of your current role do you enjoy the most and which parts do you find the most challenging?
- In what ways do you feel your experience at ESF is adding value to your career
- What information would you like us to know about you to better support your growth and success?
Accident/ Incident Forms
We've had a few questions about accidents/ incidents forms, so to clarify - it is an expectation to fill in a form when:
- If the injured child needs emergency medical care - e.g. Calling an ambulance.
- If the injured child requires immediate follow-up medical care e.g. Parents called to collect the child and are recommended to go to A&E/ GP/ Outpatients.
- Any head bumps/injuries. Please also take a picture of the bump to upload onto Gateway, as these bumps can develop over time.
- Inform parents as soon as possible
- If unsure, please check with SLT before calling parents. SLT can always help in completing the accident form and communicating with the parents.
Please refer to the Accident/ Incident Rubric for clarification.
It is NOT an expectation to complete a form for small incidents requiring minimal first aid. e.g. carpet burn/ small graze on the body/ paper cut/ bad mozzy bite/ rough play, but no crying, no pain, no noticeable marks. However please inform the parent by email or telephone if you have cleaned the graze or put a plaster on the child.
Lastly, don't forget to take face masks off to check their face & teeth for falls/ head injuries.
Bus Update
We want to take a moment to thank you for your continued support and efforts in reassuring our parents during this time. We've been busy liaising with the bus company and reporting everything to ESFC regarding the incident that occurred on October 21, 2024 (as well as previous incidents). After extensive discussions with the team at ESFC, we have collectively decided to issue a formal warning to KCM, the bus company. This warning emphasises the necessity for them to improve their service standards and prioritise the safety of our children.
Please reassure our parents that we are dedicated to maintaining a safe and secure environment for our children. We are working diligently with KCM to prevent similar incidents in the future.
ESF Explore Afterschool
Apologies to those affected by the Explore classes last week. I have provided feedback on the hasty arrangements and asked for further clarification.
The new class is called "Harmony Heroes" descriptor below. It's aimed at 3-5-year-olds; hence, a few of our children have enrolled.
Harmony Heroes focuses on the socio-emotional development of young learners, which can be tricky to navigate as feelings and emotions get bigger and bigger. Developing these skills is crucial for children as it helps with their relationship-building, emotional regulation, empathy and understanding, conflict resolution, self-confidence, academic success and wellbeing.
Key info:
- 4:15-5:15pm
- Unaccompanied
- Rochelle + 1EA (tbc who) will be teaching this class
- There won't be someone on the door, please kindly ask parents/ carers to wait outside (general Explore practice).
- Rochelle and/or the other EA will collect the children as walkers. We will provide the class teacher with the list once we receive it.
Upcoming Dates
Please check our internal calendar below. We might forget to remind everyone of odd dates. We will continue to add events as soon as they're confirmed. Here's the full 2024/25 Calendar.
Thank you!
