Good morning!Happy New Year 2025! I hope you all had a restful break and are feeling refreshed.

Firstly, welcome back Laura Peel. It's great to have you back on the team. Laura will join the LE Team as one of our floaters, so please welcome and support her as she comes around to the classrooms.

Quick Recap

As we kick off 2025, I want to take a moment to thank everyone once again for the hard work during those last few days before the break. I know it took a lot of effort, but it was truly worth it!

  • Together, we 'play-visited' 201 children, accepting approximately 80% of them. 
  • We raised $7,005 from the bake sale, which we will contribute to the Chinese puppet show and the Sports Day venue rental. 
  • We had a wonderful Observable Impact sharing session.

I encourage everyone to continue sharing your ideas and goals for this term. Whether it's innovative activities, parent engagement strategies, or professional development opportunities, your input is invaluable as we strive to provide the best for our children. Here’s a link to the heat check template; please make a copy if you’d like to use it. We will plan some time in upcoming staff meetings to complete this for the next iteration of the OI cycle.

SPOT Speech Therapy - Joice on leave

Please note Joice is currently on leave and will return to Hillside on Monday 20 January. She notified all parents prior to the Christmas break. Thank you for your understanding. 


OPRS Therapy

Please note we have a K2 child on OPRS who has moved to the morning session. Please note the OPRS AM schedule might have minor amendments according to the needs of the children. 


Here are the updated consultation times for our OPRS therapists. During these hours, teachers are welcome to reach out to discuss any concerns related to children's diverse needs. If there are no specific issues to address, our therapists will remain on-site for administrative tasks, unless the school is closed. 


Ms Amy (OPRS OT) - Tuesday 16.00-16.30

Ms Cindy Chan (OPRS ST) - Wednesday 15.45-16.15

Ms Cindy (OPRS SEN teacher) - Thursday 16.00-16.30
