Mural Project
We are excited to share that Dawn has initiated a mural art project aimed at transforming thebanana treewall in our playground and the front street-facingwalker doorwall to create a more vibrant and welcoming space for our children. Additionally, this project also presents a great opportunity for some of the Year 12/13 students (and maybe some of our little ones) to get involved and contribute to this community effort.

A big thank you to Dawn for her hard work in leading this initiative, and thank you to the ESFC Comms Team for funding for this project. We have received three artist proposals. Please take a look at the Canva for the proposals and cast your vote for the one you like best.

Term 2 PRD Check-ins (EAs Next Week)

Laura and Brenda will be meeting EAs next week. Please check your time slot here, we will meet in the office and a floater will come to your class to cover you. In advance, please have a think about the following reflection questions:

  • What key accomplishments or progress do you wish to highlight?

  • What helps you feel connected with ESF?

  • What are the biggest challenges you are facing at work this year? What would you like to take on in the coming months?

Digital Comms Policy
A new ESF Digital Communications Policy will take effect at the start of Term 3.
The policy aims to ensure data security and help staff maintain a boundary between work and personal life. The main change is that all work-related messaging will now take place on platforms available via Assembly. This means we will no longer use WhatsApp or other social media for work communications.

Please transition to Google Chat for any work-related discussions, as many of our schools have already done. The remaining teams will complete this shift in the coming weeks. We will soon create new Google Chat "spaces" and add you all to the relevant groups to facilitate this transition.

Here are slides outlining the differences between Google Chat and WhatsApp. [LINK] I'll discuss this further during our next meeting. Thank you for your cooperation.

Safeguarding Reminders
We will be sharing some safeguarding reminders with parents shortly. Please help to reinforce these as required. One important update is that parents are not permitted to enter the children’s toilets for safeguarding reasons. I will explain this further at our upcoming meeting.

Photo Taking
Please do not take photos or videos of children on school premises, including during drop-off and pick-up times. This is to protect the privacy of all families. If you wish to photograph your child, please stand away from groups to avoid capturing other children. Any photos taken that include other children will need to be deleted.

We understand that families want to capture memories on special occasions like community days. If all children are with an adult, it's that adult's responsibility to request that their child not be included in photos if needed.

Supervision of Children
Please ensure that children stay close to you during busy drop-off and pick-up times. We've noticed some children playing and wandering around on their own, which can be unsafe.

Allergies
As a reminder, we are a nut-free school. Please do not bring any nut-based products, including nut butter and cakes containing nuts. If you give your child a snack after school, please wait until you are outside the school to avoid contamination in shared areas. This is important for the safety of children with serious allergies.

School Toilets
Only ESF staff members who have completed safeguarding training are allowed in the children's toilets. If your child needs help using the toilet or changing, a staff member can assist. If you need to support your child, please use the visitor's toilet instead.

ESF Research Conference
Saturday 24 May 10am-3pm @ ESFC. Register on Gateway, lunch is provided.
You’re invited to the 4th annual ESF Centre for Research conference!
This celebratory event is a fantastic opportunity for ESF educators to come together and share their reflections, insights, and innovations in classroom practice from the past year. As a presenter or participant, you'll have the chance to network with colleagues from different schools, connect with others passionate about educational research, and contribute to our collective professional growth.
More details here. We’re happy to support if anyone is keen to present as well.

Upcoming Dates
Please check our internal calendar below. We might forget to remind everyone of odd dates. We will continue to add events as soon as they're confirmed. Here's the full 2024/25 Calendar and DRAFT 2025/26 Calendar.

Thank you!
