Social Worker/Counsellor @ Bradbury
Bradbury will be recruiting for a social worker/counsellor for the new school year. Kate has generously offered Hillside regular access to this specialist to support our children transitioning into primary. This role aims to support our community through family education, resource navigation, and consultancy advice for teachers. I will be involved in the recruitment process for this position over the next few weeks.

End of Year Social - Friday, 20 June
Location: Pier 7 Central
Time: ~4:30 PM (Kwoon Chung will arrange a bus to take us there after school)
Canapés and a round of drinks will be provided, with a cash bar available after that.
2026/27 Y1 Information (Current K1s)
I understand some K1 parents had questions about Year 1 information. The ESFC will usually share the transition info after the summer. The process has been different every year for the past 3 years, so I don't have the latest information for this next round yet. However, in a nutshell, there will be:- An online form for parents to complete during September.
- A user guide shared with parents after the summer.
- Parents can select multiple schools.
- Multiple reminders to ensure our parents receive the information.
- An FAQ document (this is last year's, so the info may not be accurate).
- Most primary schools will offer open days in August/September, and some schools provide year-round tours.
K1-K2 Handover
As part of our K1-K2 transition plan, we have scheduled handover chats for Wednesday and Thursday. Please take a moment to review the schedule and check for any potential clashes. We’ve done our best to avoid conflicts with the Dragon Boat Race and minimise the impact on your class time. However, it is a bit tricky, as some K1 teachers will also be taking on K2, which means they’ll be out for a bit longer.
K1 teachers, please review the class list to ensure that no children are missing from the name swaps.
K1 to K2 Transition Day
On Friday, 13 June, we will have our K1 to K2 transition day. The K1 children can wear their new K2 class stickers. For those not returning to K2, we will provide them with a different sticker so they feel included. We won’t be sending home extra stickers this year; instead, we will distribute them during the “K2 Meet and Greet” day after the summer. Thank you!
