Hi everyone, I hope you all had a restful summer and are feeling re-energised for the new school year.


Warm reminder, we are due back on site on Monday, 11 August.

**Please bring along any children's books or resources you brought over the summer to share new inspirations.**


For the Week

  • Monday, 11 August: Whole school staff meeting at 9am in the K2 shared area. Please sit with your class teams.

  • After the meeting, staff can sign out tech devices from admin.

  • Here's the timetable for the first week with meeting times so class teams can prep accordingly.

  • Please review the updated Staff Handbook & Parent Handbook and bring any questions you might have to the staff meeting. 

  • Next Monday, 18 August: All K2s resume; K1s have a staggered start.


Warm Welcomes

Please join me in officially welcoming Laura Peel, Katniss, and Maria to our team! Ani will also be joining us temporarily while Joyce is on her teacher block. We’re excited to have you all with us 🎉


PTCs

  • PTCs are on Wednesday and Thursday. Teachers can choose to Zoom from home or sign up for a quiet space at school.

  • Links to your class “You Tell Us” PTC sign-up sheets: [K1] / [K2].

  • Please send a welcome message to parents by Wednesday, 13 August. For K1s, include your Zoom link. For K2s, please send a reminder for the Meet and Greet sign-up.

  • Here's the HSK Weekly Timetable for your reference

  • Please refer to the [school calendar] for all key dates, or add the Hillside Internal Calendar to your Google Calendar.


Class Lists, Badges, etc.

  • K1 class lists & K2 class lists are not yet final, as we’re still seeing some student movement over the summer. The same goes for name badges, cubby stickers and so on.

  • Our admin team is following up with KCM on bus lists.


Weekly Meeting Dates

A quick reminder of our regular meetings:

  • Tuesdays: Whole staff meetings

  • Wednesdays: Open play meetings every other week (may be year-level based)

  • Thursdays: EA PD (not weekly)

  • Please agree on a weekly time for your class team meetings.


Google Calendar

Please use the Staff Google Calendar (always attached at the end of comms) for upcoming events, visitors, and important dates. We’ll do our best to keep it up-to-date. If we know visitors will be spending time in classrooms, we’ll let you know in advance. For any last-minute changes, we’ll use the Google Chat broadcast on the event day.

We are working to link this to the new systems as well, so you can view it across platforms.
