Good morning, everyone. I hope you’ve all had an enjoyable and relaxing break.

Firstly, welcome back, Ammie! A quick update, Ammie and Joyce will use the next week or so for a handover period before Joyce rejoins the Turtle class.

During my holiday doomscrolling, I came across this uplifting video of an ASD child comparing Autism to Limited Edition Lego and chilli - "Some people are mild, some are medium and some are super spicy…"

To all the parents worried about labelling/ bullying, this boy had the perfect answer: "I've got the best mates ever. Yeah, they might think I'm a little bit weird or different. But that's exactly why they like me." It just highlights the importance of early intervention and understanding neurodiversity. Hope this sets the vibe to our professional learning day - enjoy, everyone!

For This Week
  • Monday: ESF-wide Professional Learning Day
  • Wednesday: Whole Staff lunch meeting (Sharing session from PL day)
  • Please note, it will be a busy week with several of us attending PL sessions at different times. Hence, moving our regular staff meeting to Wednesday. Thank you for your flexibility as we take turns being out for professional learning.

Fire Drill

A heads-up that our next fire drill is planned for Tuesday, 11 November. Please mark this date and review our Evacuation Procedures. The drills will take place at around 9:10 a.m. and 1:20 p.m. We will evacuate to the playground and line up by class.

Just a reminder, the auditors are strict about the six-month requirement, so our next drill is already pencilled in for Tuesday, 5 May, to meet the EDB guidelines. Thank you for your attention to this.

ESF-wide News

Bradbury Principal Resignation
Kate has formally resigned from her post and will be finishing this academic year. Kate has long been a strong supporter of a more collaborative early years approach, and we have built a strong partnership between the two schools. I hope to accomplish more before her departure, and we wish her all the best in her future endeavours.

New ESF Director of Human Resources
We also have a new ESF Director of HR. Kunal Mulchandani
has been with us as Head of Talent and Employee Relations for five years and has also served as interim Director of HR since April. We look forward to working with him in his new role.

Observable Impact

As we begin the first cycle of the DIOD process within our Observable Impact Framework, I’d like to outline our next steps as we move from design to implementation.

We’re going to spend more time in the design stage, exploring different strategies to support our focus on self-regulation and personalised learning. We’ll use a few upcoming staff meetings for this work before developing our S-E-T (Students-Educators-Tasks) and setting class team goals in late November. The goal you select will be your class team’s teaching and learning objective for PRD.

In Term 2, we’ll move into the implementation phase and work through the cycle together.

Based on your feedback from last year, we will be running Internal Impact Walks each term. These walks will help us gather insights and ensure our practices are aligned with our goals.

When: Week 14, 17–20 November
We’ll ask for 1 hour during teacher non-contact time. Further details will follow.

Upcoming Dates
Please check our internal calendar below. We might forget to remind everyone of odd dates. We will continue to add events as soon as they're confirmed. Here's the full 2025/26 Calendar.

Thank you!
