A reminder that our next fire drill is planned for Tuesday, 11 November. Please review our Evacuation Procedures ahead of time. The drill will take place at 9:10 a.m. and 1:20 p.m. We will evacuate to the playground and line up by class.
We’ve also updated our Evacuation Procedures to include guidance for:
Children with Physical Access Needs
In the event of an evacuation, children with physical access needs will receive immediate support from the nearest staff member. If required, staff will carefully lift and carry the child to the nearest safe exit and proceed to the assembly point. Staff should also bring along any essential mobility aids or medical equipment, if it is safe to do so. The child’s safety and wellbeing are always the top priority, and assistance should be provided calmly and reassuringly.
The auditors are strict about the six-month requirement, so our next drill is already pencilled in for Tuesday, 5 May, to meet EDB guidelines. Thank you for your attention to this.
As space is limited, we’re using the library and resource room for Zoom spaces and EP assessments. Therapy sessions will be relocated to outside the resource room for these two weeks.
We would appreciate it if library book exchanges could take place in classrooms during this time. Jasmine and Vicky will be available to assist with parent phone calls or any issues on the day.
Thanks to our admin team and a few of our more extroverted colleagues, we’ve secured a great deal at Arcadia Restaurant & Bar for our Christmas social!
