EA PRD Check‑Ins

Laura and Brenda have scheduled EA PRD check‑ins for next week. Please check the shared schedule and note your allocated time. Cover will be provided, and meetings will take place in the office.

Ahead of your meeting, please reflect on:

  • What are you most proud of professionally this year, and how did you demonstrate ownership and accountability?
  • When did your contribution feel most meaningfully aligned with Hillside and/or ESF’s success?
  • Think of a plan or assumption that changed. How did you adapt, and what did you learn?
  • What is one skill or area you are now motivated to develop further?

Thank you for engaging thoughtfully in this professional reflection process.

Early Years Learning Walk

Thank you for your flexibility in welcoming visitors and engaging in the recent Learning Walks. Your commitment to high‑quality, play‑based practice continues to be evident.

This week, we are hosting Tung Chung colleagues as part of the Early Years Learning Walk initiative. This grew out of the ESF Early Years (K1–Y2) phase leader working group and aims to build a clearer understanding of early years practice across ESF, guided by the Pedagogy of Play framework.

Once feedback from both last week’s impact walk and this week’s visit has been collated, we will share key themes with everyone.

CEO Visit – Feedback

Thank you for welcoming Belinda into your classrooms last week. She really enjoyed the singing and conversations with children. She left, thanking us for "a wonderful start to her day. She was energised by our students and our work", and she recognised our strong commitment to learning through play.

She also reaffirmed her commitment to strengthening the Early Years strategy, with the intention of seeing early years practice positively influence the wider foundation.

Go team, Hillside!

Weather Day Online Learning Template

I have created a Weather Day Online Learning Template to support continuity during school closures due to inclement weather, in line with the new ESF guidance around online learning and work‑from‑home arrangements.

Hopefully, we won’t need to use it any time soon. That said, we had roughly seven weather days in Term 1, and we typically experience a few more in Term 3, so it is prudent to be prepared.

Teachers, please take some time during CP to review the template and share any feedback or suggestions. The intention is to keep it clear, manageable and consistent, while supporting meaningful learning at home.

Thank you in advance for your input.

Upcoming Dates
Please check our internal calendar below. We might forget to remind everyone of odd dates. We will continue to add events as soon as they're confirmed. Here's the full 2025/26 Calendar.

Thank you!
