Morning everyone, hope you all had a lovely long weekend.
I wanted to start this week by sharing a piece of parent feedback — it really captures who we are as a learning community:
It was a long, lovely feedback commenting on the entire open-play, but in summary, the parent shared: Everything felt calm and natural. The children were happy, engaged and independent. She saw strong routines, clear boundaries, and staff actively involved in play. The environment felt positive, and it’s clear the provision is varied, regularly refreshed, and keeps children excited about learning.
Quote: “…As she directed me outside, she pointed out the adult toilet to me and told me I was "not allowed in the kiddy toilets", vitally important she knew that from a safeguarding perspective given you welcome lots of visitors, so I was pleased with those boundaries... The staff all seemed to have a station and were not just ensuring things ran smoothly with safety/equipment/tidying up etc, but were engaged in the play. The staff seemed happy, which I know from my experience is hugely important to the environment and culture that it then creates for the children."
It’s always powerful when these messages come directly from the children, showing how well routines and safeguarding understandings are embedded.
A great reflection of the consistency, care and intention across the team — thank you. 🙇🏻♀️

A reminder that our fire drill will take place on Tuesday (weather permitting):
- Approx. 9:10am and 1:20pm

Please take a moment to review evacuation procedures and ensure children are prepared and supported through the process.
No staff meeting this week.
Next week, the Bradbury School Counsellor, Cathy Tong, will run a short session on managing friendship fires and conflicts. This will take place ahead of the parent session, so we have the same language and strategies to support children and families.
Action Required: Workday Launch
As Workday launches on 20 May 2026, a few important updates:

- Please download your IR56B tax form before this date (refer to Jaz’s email)
Temporary process (1–19 May):

- Other leave types continue via the usual forms
Thank you for your patience during this transition.
End-of-Term Staff Social
A quick reminder that the ESF no-alcohol policy applies to any event subsidised (fully or partially) by ESF.
For self-funded, staff-organised events outside of work, that’s absolutely fine — just a reminder to maintain professional conduct.
With this said, some colleagues suggested a tea gathering on-site, since it's a "no alcohol event", while others are open to heading out — we’ll send a quick survey to gather preferences.
Upcoming Dates
Please check our internal calendar below. We might forget to remind everyone of odd dates. We will continue to add events as soon as they're confirmed. Here's the full 2025/26 Calendar.Thank you!
