Thursday: Literature Circle (lunch)
Friday: K1 to K2 Swap Day
On Friday, 12 June, we will hold our K1 to K2 Transition Day. Here's the plan for the day.
- K1 children will wear their new K2 class stickers
- Children not returning will receive the "old green dragon" sticker so they feel included
This year, we will not be sending extra stickers home. Instead, these will be shared during the K2 Meet and Greet after the summer.
Thank you for your support in making this a positive experience for all children.
On Friday, ESF announced several updates as part of the Early Years Strategy.
The key message is the formal linking of kindergartens with their partner primary schools, similar to how primary and secondary schools are already connected. This strengthens our through-train model and positions ESF as a more unified education system.
For us, all 2024 births - i.e. families starting K1 in 2027- will only have the option to select Bradbury, Glenealy and Peak as primary school preferences. Parents can still select across the three, and then places will be allocated by priority and random number.
You can find more information through:
- The ESF brochure and new webpage outlining the changes
- A set of FAQs addressing common questions
- A video message from Belinda (filmed here at Hillside)
Please take some time to familiarise yourself with these, as they may come up in conversations with families. As always, please direct all related questions to our admin team/ ESF Admissions.
